No. 6 TCU Equestrian Falls to No. 7 Baylor in Waco

WACO, Texas - The No. 6-ranked Frogs fell to conference foe No. 7 Baylor, 7-10 on Saturday in Waco.

The Rundown
The Frogs led in Equitation over Fences, 3-2, thanks to seniors Jayme Omand and Marisa Malevitis along with newcomer Elizabeth McKim earning their points. McKim's 81-76 decision against Baylor's Abby Jorgensen earned her the second win of her young career, as well as her first MOP.

In Reining, the lone point was earned by sophomore Elena Hurd, defeating Baylor's Kaylynn DeBernard 71.5-70.5. This is the third time she has scored a 71.5 this season, and she earned the second MOP of her career. Adrianna Adams rode to a draw against Baylor's Charlotte Green at 70-70. Claire Dittrich scored a 72 on her ride against Baylor's Carly Salter, tying her season high.

On the Flat, senior Carley Barnett earned the lone point for the Frogs, downing Baylor's Rachel Van Allen 80-74, earning her second MOP for Flat this season. TCU faced another draw when Jayme Omand and Brittney Mirkov both rode to a 76-point decision on horse Palmar.

In Horsemanship, TCU tied the Bears 2-2. Senior Elizabeth Bohn earned her point by defeating Baylor's Clara Johnson 79-78; her 79-point ride being a career-high and earning the first MOP of her career. Sophomore Josie Mootz also earned her point by posting a career-high 81-point ride on Pierce. The Frogs faced yet another draw when sophomore Laska Anderson tied the Bears' Kaylee Mellot at 79 points. Her score of 79 is a career high.
