RIO GRANDE, P.R. -- TCU's Yeji Shin and Grace Do carded a 72 and 73, respectively, as the Horned Frogs are in fourth place after Sunday's opening round of the Lady Puerto Rico Classic.

The Horned Frogs' 297 is just five strokes behind second place and No. 22 Kent State. No. 4 Arkansas shot an even-par 284 and is in the lead.

Shin, in just her second tournament as a Horned Frog, shot par on her opening 10 holes. The Norwood, N.J., native had a birdie while recording par on 15 holes. Her 1-over-par 72 is tied for sixth and just four strokes off the pace set by Arkansas' fifth-ranked Maria Fassi who shot a 68.

Do had a pair of birdies and is tied for ninth.

"We played in really tough conditions and the ladies stayed strong and fought hard," TCU women's golf coach Angie Ravaioli-Larkin said. "We still left a few shots out there, so there is room for improvement.

"We need to let go and let it happen as well as capitalize on our short games and 'be a player' mentality."

Annika Clark and Greta Bruner are tied for 22nd after posting 76s. Both had a birdie.

Brooke McDougald had a team-best three birdies, all coming in a five-hole stretch.

TCU's second-round tee time Monday is at 6 a.m. CST. Live scoring is available at Golfstat.com.
