FORT WORTH, Texas - In its second straight doubleheader, the TCU women's tennis team picked up two hard-fought victories as they scored a 4-2 win over Rice before finishing Saturday with a 6-0 win over Prairie View A&M at the indoor facility inside the Bayard H. Friedman Tennis Center in Fort Worth.

The Horned Frogs (6-3) were able to get the doubles point in both matches and were able to dominate singles in straight sets against the Owls (3-2) and the Panthers (0-7). No. 117 Marie Norris was the only player to go 4-0 on the day across singles and doubles as the junior paired with Stevie Kennedy and Elizabeth Tedford in doubles before getting a 7-5, 6-1 win over Fernanda Astete and a 6-2, 6-0 over Jimena Duran-Castellanos in singles.

No. 85 Aleksa Cveticanin also picked up two wins in singles at the top position on Saturday as the freshman was the clincher against Rice with a 7-6(6), 6-4 win over Lindsey Hodge before getting a 6-2, 6-1 win over Neharika Rama to end the day. No. 90 Aleksandra Zenovka went undefeated on the day with a 3-0 mark as she scored two wins in doubles to go along with a 6-4, 6-4 win in singles over Wendy Zhang of Rice.

Quotes from the Match
Head Coach Lee Taylor Walker
"That was a big win for our team today. Rice is right up there with some of the other top teams we have played this year in Ole Moss, Arizona State and Texas Tech. For us to get over the hump and get a doubles point and then squeak out a solid 4-2 win was just big for our confidence. Doubles was a big focus this past week so I'm happy we were rewarded for that extra focus. We still have so much room to improve so that's exciting for us as coaches. We have a young team that's only getting better and better. As we head into the thick of our non-conference schedule, our focus is going to be on sticking to and trusting our game identity and really learning to rely on these strengths under pressure. We have Stanford Friday and everybody knows we were just a few points away last year. We want to come in with confidence and belief ready to finish this year if given the opportunity. We are really looking forward to the match."
